Mark Micheli Joins Kelton Global’s Design and Innovation Team

Micheli to grow company’s product, service, UX design and strategy capabilities.

CHICAGO, IL, October 20, 2017 – Kelton Global is pleased to welcome design and product strategy leader Mark Micheli. As Senior Director of Design Research and Product Strategy, Mark joins Kelton’s diverse design and innovation team and will further expand the company’s product, service, UX design and strategy capabilities. Mark is based in Kelton’s growing Chicago office, and will lead and contribute to insights, design, and innovation engagements for clients globally.

Mark earned his master’s degree from the Human-Computer Interaction Institute within Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Computer Science, a program renowned for its efforts to harmonize emergent technologies with human needs through interdisciplinary research and design methodologies that combine service design, computer science, business strategy and behavioral psychology. He’s a graduate of the Coro Fellows Program in Public Affairs and received a dual bachelor’s degree from Drake University in Journalism and Mass Communication, Political Science and History.

At Carnegie Mellon, Mark worked with Samsung Electronics, where he led an academic team of designers and researchers working to reimagine the future of IoT technology and in-home robotics. He was also a co-author on research published at CHI Play 2017 focused on developing a user-research protocol for understanding empathy and performing emotion capture in virtual reality.

Prior to Kelton, Mark served as the head of product, brand, and content marketing for Bloomberg Government, where he was responsible for all creative, UX and content strategy decisions.  In this role, he led a yearlong rebranding and redesign of Bloomberg Government, and built the organization’s first content marketing team. Before Bloomberg, Mark helped found the digital consulting and content marketing studio of Atlantic Media’s government and defense division, where he served as editorial lead, designing and executing a product strategy that resulted in $1 million+ in new revenue. He has led a diverse career as a journalist—serving as an editor for Government Executive, a contributor to The Atlantic and a correspondent for The Des Moines Register—as well as working in a variety of roles spanning product design, B2B content marketing, public affairs and digital production.

“Today’s customers demand a seamless user experience, and products that uniquely fit their needs. Mark’s expertise expands Kelton’s ability to help our clients exceed these expectations, both online and off,” said Kelton Co-Founder and President, Gareth Schweitzer. “With a diverse background spanning product and service design strategy, UX design, communications, marketing, journalism, and insights, Mark is a natural fit for our Kelton team and we’re thrilled to have him on board.”
